Second Sunday of Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday

This weekend’s Gospel is a classic story about someone (Thomas) coming to believe. It reminds us that faith is a verb more than a noun. It is a journey. Sometimes it is easy to believe; sometimes it is not so easy. Developmentally people normally experience a time of doubt in their early twenties. Sometimes “pockets” of doubt remain and surface later on in life, especially during mid-life. Either way our  faith is never static. It is always being stretched in order to hold the great mysteries of life, especially the  mystery of death.
