Saint Dominic Catholic School is a thriving elementary school in the city of Garden City. Find below important facts ABOUT US:

  • Our school-wide theme this year is Gratitude.
  • We focus on educating students body, mind and soul.
  • We are a part of the Diocese of Dodge City.
  • We currently have 165 students enrolled in Preschool through 6th Grade.
  • We have two sessions of 3-yr-old Preschool and two sessions of 4-yr-old Preschool. 
  • Students in the 4-yr-old Preschool have the option of a 3 day or a 4 day program.
  • Students attend Mass at St. Dominic Parish twice weekly.
  • Two classrooms attend Mass at Garden Valley Retirement Center twice monthly.
  • We are fully accredited by the State of Kansas.
  • All classroom teachers are fully certified.  75% of our Specials Teachers are fully certified.
  • Students in grades kindergarten through six attend the following special classes weekly: PE, Music, Library, Technology. 
  • We have a progressive technology program utilizing a computer lab, mobile laptops, & i-Pads.
  • Students in 5th and 6th Grade(s) have the opportunity to take band class as a part of the school day.
  • All students in kindergarten through 6th grade wear uniforms daily.
  • Eligible students receive special education and title services through our local public school system.
  • Each class has an on-going community service project throughout the school year.
  • Teachers follow a developed curriculum for each subject area including religion.
  • Students in grades 3-6 participate in State Assessments given in the spring of each year.
  • 16% of our student body is Non-Catholic.
  • The diversity of our school is increasing with 6% of our student body being Asian, 1% Black, 1% Native American, and 90% White.
  • We have a firmly established and generous Endowment Fund.
  • We are supported by a growing Alumni and Friends Association.
